To be blunt Mattie, you really did blow it in your interview with Senator Clinton this morning. I mean seriously... someone sends you an undated picture of President and Senator Clinton with Tony Rezko and you toss that in Senator Clinton’s face in an interview on national TeeVee? With the implication that this one picture stacks up to the 17-year relationship that Sen. Obama’s had with Mr. Rezko?
Lemme guess... you’re gunning for Tim Russert’s job now yeah? Because this is an example of his lame-ass gotcha journalism (and I use the term journalism loosely) that we’ve seen whenever Timmeh hosts a debate.
One question – did you even check to see if that picture was real? As in not mocked up with PhotoShop? And even if it were real, did it ever occur to you that politicians at that level of government have probably stood still long enough to have their picture taken with literally tens of thousands of people?
Hullo?!
Make the jump son cos you’re gonna get an earful...
Now, I know you’re still stuck on one of those weekday morning fluffy-bunny, man-falls-from-the-sky-and-lives (!!!!) missing-white-girl news programs (well at least in the case of your show) so you’ve probably forgotten how real journalists dig up stories and report them. Well take a look at something that CNN and ABC each did on this story this morning...
Now, see the difference here? You try for a GOTCHA (!!!!) moment with a seasoned and highly respected Senator / candidate for President and fall flat on your face, while the real journalists out there are reporting on verifiable facts where Mr. Rezko is concerned.
Sweetie, let me offer you a bit of friendly advice - Go (back) to journalism school!
In the meantime, here’s a little something to get you started...
Tony Rezko has never contributed a dime to Hillary or Bill Clinton. They have no relationship with Tony Rezko.
Tony Rezko has been described as Sen. Obama's "political patron" and friend of 17 years.
Tony Rezko and his associates have directly donated over $200,000 to Sen. Obama, and bundled more, but Sen. Obama has only returned $85,000. Sen. Obama's name recently appeared in court documents because it was revealed some money Rezko raised was funneled through at least one straw donor or stolen from the government.
Sen. Obama wrote letters to city and state officials that helped secure $14 million for Rezko in taxpayer money.
Sen. Obama helped Rezko impress potential investors by appearing at his business meetings.
Most famously, Sen. Obama and Rezko were involved in a controversial real estate transaction.

But wait Mattie – there’s more! ABC just found another $100,000.00 of Rezko-tainted campaign contributions. Yes you read that right – six figures of brand-new dirty money.
An ABCNews.com review, however, has identified an additional $100,000 in contributions made to Obama from Rezko's associates that have not been returned, including $19,500 in contributions from Rezko's wife and employees of Rezko's business enterprises. The ABCNews.com review includes individuals who have been linked to Rezko in news reports, court documents and public records.
Other news organizations have reviewed Obama's campaign finance records and have also found Rezko-linked contributions that are more than double what the campaign has publicly acknowledged. The Chicago Sun-Times, which published its review last June, found that "Obama has collected at least $168,308 from Rezko and his circle," and earlier this week the Los Angeles Times reported that it had found that Rezko and his associates had given "Obama more than $200,000 in donations since 1995."
That’s how real news gets reported Mattie. A lofty goal I know but I’m convinced you’re up to the task if you study hard and apply yourself in reaching it.
Right, that should keep your thin little lips moving for a while. You’ve got work to do son – now shut off your laptop and get down to work!
