For those who can't remember what it was like to not be inundated with candidate cattiness, on this day in history you'll find the following events:
1911 - Glenn H. Curtiss flies the first successful seaplane.
1961 - John F. Kennedy appoints Janet G. Travell to be his physician. This is the first time a woman holds this appointment.
2004 - A whale explodes in the town of Tainan, Taiwan. A build-up of gas in the decomposing Sperm whale is suspected of causing the explosion. Rumors that it was really due to ingesting too many candidate-diaries have not been disproven.
Among millions of less notable but still worthy humans, Douglas MacArthur, Maria von Trapp, Jules Feiffer, Ellen DeGeneres, Paul Newman and Eddie Van Halen were born on this day.
Tonight's diaries cover a variety of interesting subjects rarely covered by the MSM, and certainly not with the kind of research, perspective and analysis we see here every day. A pity, isn't it.
