You read that right - I'm still for Hill. I prefer her over Bill.
Long ago I started out as an Obama fan and really hoped he could beat Hillary. But I watched him over time and grew doubtful. Then Hillary grew on me.
Earlier today I speculated I might be the only "out" Hillary fan/supporter at this site, only to be corrected by hopscotch1997:
Oh no. There are about 25 of us regular exposed and out Hillary fans, but there are many more who are afraid to come here without a gun to defend themselves, and who poke their heads in once in a while.
Even the most fervent Obama supporters have to give us props - it takes guts to admit to being a Hillary fan at this site.
So in this diary if you care to do so, leave a comment as to why Hillary is your first choice for the Democratic nomination. Or flame away.
Why I like Hillary: she wears well. I've met many a folk who started out hating her, then met her, learned to like her over time, then grew to really admire her. I find her wrinkles to be beautiful, her life story to be intriguing, and her strength to be awe-inspiring. Yes that is a fluffy description I know.
How she's different from George W. Bush:
- she's intensely curious, she pays attention to details
- she skips the fake happy talk and "just trust me" rhetoric
- after a humiliating, failed attempt at health care reform in 1992, I get the sense she wants to go down in history as the one who reformed health care for this country. She intends to start working on this the first day of her administration. Her opponent, in contrast, promises to reform health care by the end of his first term.
- she's shown resilience and stamina on the campaign trail in the face of setbacks
I've been envisioning her as a more effective and even more beloved president than her husband. Maybe I'm crazy.
Hopefully some of the other Hillary fans can better articulate their admiration below.
