Disenfranchising Florida is not just for George W Bush anymore. Now the Democratic Party is saying Florida votes don't count. It is wrong and it should not stand. Certainly not if we expect to win Florida come November. It would be a fool's errand to say your vote didn't count in the primaries but please vote for us in November.
Howard Dean and the DNC really blew it on this one. They should have never made such an untenable decision as to say that the primary votes of a state don't count because Iowa and New Hampshire are special. No offense, but Iowa and New Hampshire aren't special - no state is special relative to another state. The DNC can't win this one because it doesn't make any sense.
The Democratic Party - We decide if your votes count or not
It's just not a winning strategy for a party. Quit the bickering, admit the delegates will count and let's stop being hypocrites by doing exactly what we criticized George W Bush for doing. Any Democratic nominee that wins on the strength of blocking state delegates has no legitimacy. They can't win a general election - certainly not when the states involved are huge swing states. Stop thinking about this through the prism of your respective candidates and get real. Get consistent with your values. Admit the Florida delegates. Michigan too.
