It seems we can't keep a good wacko-liberal down. Ralph Nader is jumping into the 2008 race with his own exploratory website. From Boston.Com:
Ralph Nader, the consumer activist whom many Democrats blame for costing them the White House in 2000, launched an exploratory website today.
The site asks "Which side are you on?" and features a litany of criticisms of corporate America.
In 2000, Democrat Al Gore won the popular vote but was edged out in the Electoral College by Republican George W. Bush after the US Supreme Court stopped a recount in Florida.
Nader, the Green Party candidate, won about 2.8 million votes nationwide, or nearly 3 percent of the vote. But his vote in close, key states helped swing the election to Bush.
Ralph Nader, get your fucking ass out of this race. This country can not afford to have you run you insurgent campaign!
More below the fold.
Now I can understand how Ralph Nader wants to push his message of fighting back against corporate power and greed, but jumping into the race at this time could backfire against him, and cause more damage to our country. The Democratic Party is energized to fight against eight years worth of incompetence, greed, war, and corruption under King George The Deciderer's reign. The Democratic Party, and the campaigns of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards, have been raising huge amounts of money--even more than their GOP counterparts. We want change, and we now have two excellent presidential candidates who could provide the change, the experience and the leadership that is needed to fix these serious problems in the White House.
What we don't need is for you to potentially destroy the Democrats chances of taking the Oval Office. We've seen what you did in 2000, when your insurgent campaign shifted just enough votes in swing-states away from Al Gore, allowing George W. Bush to take the White House. You have made your point in 2000, and now we are living in a country that is wracked with illegal domestic spying, torture, erosion of civil rights, fear-mongering, endless war, economic disparity, inequality between the ubber-rich and the rest of us, corporate greed, deregulation, erosion of environmental laws, inadequate health care, increasing poverty, and the increasing inevitability of what John Edwards' called the Two Americas. The last thing I would want is for your campaign to siphon swing-state votes away from a Hillary or an Obama candidate, allowing the GOP to continue to maintain control of the White House. To allow the GOP to continue their corrupt raping of this country for their own selfish greed. We know about your message of corporate power and greed. But running for president in 2008 could force the Democrats to lose the White House, and allow those Republicans and the corporate powers to continue their excessive greed. This country can not afford to have you run another presidential campaign.
Stay out of this race.
Update: DKos user JoeBloom has a post up regarding Nader's entry into the 2008 race. He recommends that we go to Nader's website and send a little message to Nader telling him that he should stay out of the race. Commentator BeauKitty has already done that by clicking the Volunteer button, and then sending a message to Nader. I think it is a great idea. Send Nader some love.
