and they're rabid.
With the now infamous "I'm a Hillary Girl ... if McCain gets the nomination" rant on Hannity and Colmes we are seeing the unleashing of Romney's hounds. This little drama on Faux News is simply the Romney slime machine ramping up. Any harm to Clinton is just collateral damage (or an added bonus) to these people. Of course you all know that, but it's amazing to me how dense the people reporting this story are. Not one single word about who Coulter is really backing. Not a word about Romney or even McCain for that matter. The real story here is McCain v. Romney and their nasty little proxy war. Not how Coultergeist hearts our Hillary. geez!
There is a method to this vile creatures madness. Coulter has endorsed Romney and has stumped for him.
My thinking was that Romney would be our nominee because he is manifestly the best candidate.
For those thinking of voting for McCain or Huckabee, she has this to say:
I had no idea that Republican voters in Iowa and New Hampshire planned to do absolutely zero research on the candidates and vote on the basis of random impulses.
Dear Republicans: Please do one-tenth as much research before casting a vote in a presidential election as you do before buying a new car.
One clue that Romney is our strongest candidate is the fact that Democrats keep viciously attacking him while expressing their deep respect for Mike Huckabee and John McCain.
*emphasis mine.
Read that entire piece at Human Events, if you can stomach it, and you'll see she is way too wingnutty to support Clinton. She refers to abortion as "baby killing" and openly advocates torture. This is no HRC supporter.
She's acting as a proxy for Romney and it wouldn't surprise me if she is on his payroll. With the McCain surge in the polls, the big endorsements, and the primary wins, the Romney camp is getting desperate so have unleashed the hound(s) from hell.
It is also very clear from that video clip, though poor pathetic Alan Colmes didn't call her on it, that she was misrepresenting Clinton's stance on Gitmo, etc. Actually, misrepresenting is too soft - she was lying through her teeth about Hillary Clinton. This is clearly a scare tactic to sway certain voters away from McCain and towards Romney. For her purposes she knows she can lie w/o consequence because the people she is speaking to only need to hear the words "Hillary Clinton." Boo!
Furthermore, in her outright comparison of McCain to Clinton, saying they are not far apart on the issues, i.e., "Clinton is more conservative than McCain," another outright lie, she is attempting to plant the seeds of fear in the minds of the faithful. In her anti-McCain rant she goes on to reiterate the point that she'd trust any other Republican over Clinton except for - John McCain. If and only if McCain is the candidate, she will support Clinton. She finishes him off by saying how bad, how "very, very bad" he is for the Republican party and the country.
In my opinion that's the message she is sending. She has no intention of campaigning for Clinton or any Democrat, but while her man, Mitt, is still in this race she will go to hell and back to help him win the nomination. Even if that calls for desperate measures such as calling herself a "Hillary girl." What a joke. Unfortunately, the joke is on the MSM, who is collectively too lazy to check into such things.
So there you have it my friends. A glimpse at the depths these people will be willing to sink in order to sink our candidate in the general. And we can count on the media to give them the platform to spew their hateful lies without fear of accountability or sanction. Coulter and Company must laugh all the way to the bank.
Final thought (for fun): What is Coulter trying to say about John McCain? If Hillary Clinton is Coulter's boogeyman, and you know she is, then she is in effect saying she'd vote for the boogeyman over McCain. Hmmm, so what does that make McCain? This calls for a Poll! Who is scarier than Hillary Clinton in Rightwing world?
