Remember a few weeks ago? There was that primary in Michigan. Apparently, crossing the aisle to block a candidate is dirty tricks, but telling your supporters to vote for another candidate is just wise politics.
There have been reports at CNN that in West Virginia today that McCain supporters were encouraged to vote for Huckabee. As a result, McCain ended up getting one percent of the vote, and Huckabee squeezed out another victory, blocking Romney from winning West Virginia.
But wait, weren't we just told a few weeks ago that this kind of politicking was wrong? Weren't the Democrats voting for Romney in Michigan playing dirty tricks by boosting Romney's support and taking the state away from McCain so, so wrong? Well, now the shoes on the other foot, and I hear crickets.
Maybe we're just way used to Republicans playing this kind of ground game.
