Lots of people here and across the internet have been complaining about the media including superdelegates in their count to make it look like Clinton is winning. The problem goes much much deeper than that, and indicates a complete willingness on the part of the media to do anything to prop up Hilary Clinton's failing candidacy.
The first and easiest thing to point to is the Colorado results. The state has 55 delegates tied to Super Tuesday, and Obama won the caucus 67% to 32%. Almost a week later, the delegates still haven't been fully assigned in the media counts.
ABC lists the pledged delegates as 22 to 13, leaving 20 outstanding.
CNN (home of the best political team on television) lists it 13 to 6, leaving 36 outstanding.
RCP has it 19 to 9 leaving 27 outstanding.
What in god's name is going on here? A state Obama won handily, almost a week later, and we're not getting full delegate totals? California's totals were clear the next morning, so what exactly is the problem here? Assuming a split similar to those in other states where he has one by that amount, Obama should win the delegate count something like 36-19, meaning that the media is simply refusing to report a further gain of between 7 and 12 delegates (depending on the level of ineptitude and depravity of the media outlet).
The same thing is going on right now in Washington State. The Democratic State Party Chair has made public estimates of a 52-26 split, but the media isn't reporting that. Rather, they all have their own muddled counts that show far few delegates and essentially deprive Obama of 10-15 delegates.
And this is just indicative of a larger problem. All of the media outlets are giving running delegate totals, and none of them are the same.
ABC has it 1118 to 1095.
CNN has it 1100 to 1039.
RCP has it 1121 to 1106.
Politico has it 1064 to 1029.
The real mind boggler is that three of those are citing the same bloody source. What in the name of sweet baby jesus is the media doing here?
The media is blatantly playing with the delegate count and creating a false impression of what is really going on. This has got to be one of the most disgusting acts I have ever seen the corporate media partake in. It's time to start making noise about this. It's time for the people to decide this rather than the media.
