Survey USA released new primary polls today in Ohio and North Carolina. The data for both polls were collected on 2/10 and 2/11 (Sunday and Monday).
Ohio: Clinton 56, Obama 39
North Carolina: Obama 50, Clinton 40
OHIO, March 4th, 141 pledged delegates
Gender: Clinton leads 62-33 among women, who are projected to make up 59% of the electorate. Obama leads by a point among men.
Age: Clinton leads each age group, with her lead increasing with wisdom age.
Race: Obama leads 73-24 among black voters, who are projected to make up 16% of the electorate. Clinton leads 62-32 among white voters.
Early voting: Clinton leads 51-47 among early voters (just 4% of likely voters) and 56-38 among likely voters.
Issues: 48% of voters see the economy as the biggest issue, and Clinton leads 60-35 among those voters. She also lead 54-40 among the 17% who care the most about health care. Of the 15% who list Iraq as their top issue, Obama leads 48-46.
Endorsements: Clinton has the endorsements of Governor Ted Strickland, Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher, former Senator John Glenn (just today), and Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones.
Obama has the endorsements of the Columbus Mayor Mike Coleman and Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams.
NORTH CAROLINA, May 5th, 115 pledged delegates
Gender: Obama leads the male vote 54-36 and the female vote 46-44.
Age: Obama leads in each age group, except 65+. He leads 45-42 among the 50+ crowd.
Race: Clinton leads 53-34 among white voters, while Obama leads 80-15 among black voters (34% of the electorate).
(There's no early voting, and they didn't poll on issues).
Endorsements: Obama has the endorsement of Congressman George Butterfield. The rest of the delegation endorsed Edwards, and I haven't heard of any of them switching yet.
