Here is why the Democratic Party is going to lose the November 2008 election if they continue in the same path - and it does not matter what kind of spin the Democratic Party bosses try at this late stages of the game for their losing proposition.
When the Democratic Party debates started it did not take a long time before the US mainstream media framed the race as the possibility of having the first woman, or the first black man as the nominee of a major political party for a US presidential election.
We have been beaten over the head a thousand times over in the last year about that – the Democratic Party primaries has been defined by the mainstream media as a race between gender (the first woman) and color of the skin (the first black man) – and the Democratic Party bosses went along with this script.
Now that the gender vs. color of skin gimmick worked so well and basically has split the Democratic Party along these lines – and the damage has been done, I will not be surprised if the fight will be taken all the way to the Democratic Party convention.
.
.
The result is that whoever loses the nomination the supporters of that candidate are going to be pissed and enough democrats are going to sit this election or vote for someone else.
Regarding the Democratic Party’s nomination we have various possible outcomes from now on, and here they are:
- Barack Obama wins the nomination and moves on to the general election.
In that case he has to choose a vice president – anybody other than Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton is not a realistic choice for Barack Obama to add to his ticket if he is the nominee.
Why?
Because if the Democratic Party goes with the ticket Obama / Clinton and this ticket manage to win in November 2008 – the presidency starting in January 2009 would turn out to be just a continuation of the Bill Clinton / Hillary Clinton show.
And Barack Obama would be just that young rookie that is on the way most of the time.
Now if Barack Obama chooses anyone else to be on his ticket as the VP other than Hillary Clinton, then enough Democrats (Hillary Clinton’s supporters) would stay home on Election Day, or they would vote for John McCain or for the 3rd party candidate. – And you can bet on that....
- Hillary Clinton wins the nomination and moves on to the general election.
If she asks Barack Obama to be on her ticket as the VP – that would not work out because enough black Obama supporters would feel that the presidency had been stolen from them and enough people would stay home on Election Day for the ticket Clinton / Obama to lose the election in November 2008.
If Hillary chooses someone else to be on her ticket as the VP – someone such as Bill Richardson – enough democrats (Obama supporters) would stay home on Election Day.
Basically, it does not matter which candidate wins the nomination right now, the supporters of the other candidate will be angry and they would not support the other candidate in the November 2008 election.
- Democratic Party brokered Convention and final compromise.
The only chance the Democratic Party has to win the November 2008 election it is a brokered convention, and at that point they have to draft Al Gore to unite the party for the general election.
Then Al Gore asks Barack Obama to be on his ticket as the VP.
As the final part of the agreement and compromise: starting in January 2009 Hillary Clinton becomes the first woman leader of the senate.
This strategy it is a WIN, WIN, WIN solution for everyone, including the American people – Independents, Republicans, and Democrats.
If they do that then Al Gore can win the November 2008 presidential election with a powerful mandate.
And that would be great not only for our planet, but also to most countries around the world.
Just as a reminder in a Nutshell:
I want that the democrats keep in mind a simple fact: how just a few thousand people it can make a candidate lose an election - all you have to do it is look back the result of the elections in 2000 and 2004 by state.
A few thousand alienated democrats can cost the election in November 2008 to the Democratic Party.
