So Ralph Nader is scheduled to make an appearance Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" with Tim Russert. Presumably, he'll appear to announce his third-party (Independent?) candidacy in yet another go-around in an otherwise quixotic attempt to become president.
Quite frankly, I welcome as many voices as possible when it comes to the progressive debate in our country. And while past experiences would have me wary of Nader coming in and hurting -- even in the least -- a Dem in the general election, I'm a bit tired of his candidacy shtick. I respect the man and have personally heard him speak on a number of topics I, too, am passionate about. But the more and more he attempts these runs, the more, in my opinion, he harms the power of his influence and advocacy work. That said ...
