Am I tin foil hat wearing nutcase? Or is the Siegelman story being hushed up in Alabama?
I set the TIVO 3 days ago. I did not want to take a chance on missing 60 Minutes story on Karl Rove's abuse of the Justice Department to put former Alabama governor Don Siegelman in the Federal Pen. CBS has been hesitent to air the story for months now.
So at 7pm eastern the show began. And what happened.....?
5 minutes into the program, about a minute into the Seigelman story, my in-laws called. From North Alabama. The CBS affliate there had gone off the air. No picture, no audio.
My brother-in-law called on the land line. My father-in-law called my wife's cell phone. Both at the same time. I was hesitant to even answer, since I'd been waiting to see this story. But what they told me seemed even more shocking.
A few minutes after the report on Siegelman ended, the programming resumed. The other stations were fine the whole time.
Anyone else notice this? Any other reports from elsewhere in 'Bama?
UPDATE This message just popped up on CBS affiliate WHNT's website:
We apologize that you missed the first segment of 60 Minutes tonight featuring "The Prosecution of Don Siegelman."
It was a techincal problem with CBS out of New York. We are working with them right now to see if we can re-broadcast the segment.
Please be patient with us during this time. We are doing our best to correct the problem.
OK. Something at least. But a problem in NY that only effected the Alabama broadcast? I'm still not satisfied.
