This has been a great day at dKos for the Obama theme of Yes WE can.
In this thread I watched a YouTube video made, I believe, by Anna who is among our ground forces in Texas. It was a great video. Like most, it has contemporary music.
So I just dropped in a little 'gimme' into...
This thread's comments,
Ok, but can we have
just ONE YouTube vid set to, yanno, Bach or someone like that? To reach out to other old codgers like me.
/humor
A few people rec'd that comment, and some folks sugggested Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copland.
Over the course of the day I came across this little commented upon diary about various Obama videos which have been translated into a handful of languages. As someone who's lived abroad, and speaks a few languages, this incredible effort just rocked my sox. Kudos to everyone involved in making Senator Obama's message available to all.
After all this love, I kinda blew it. In a comment which was supposed to be stark, but not snarky, I miscalculated and annoyed some supporters of Senator Edwards who are still trying to figure out where their new political home should be. For this, and on my behalf, I apologize.
Then, to top it all off, pwr2thepeople provided me with the link to this wonderful video in support of Senator Obama which might appeal more to the old codgers among us: To the dreamers.
So, with thanks for the young 'uns and their music, the old 'uns and ours, the linguists among us for their great outreach, Aaron Copland for his truly American music, and to struggling Edwards' and Clinton supporters, welcome to camp Obama. It's a big tent we can all fit under.
