According to a just published internet survey, Hillary Clinton is not a popular figure on the leading progressive blogsite, the Daily Kos.
At this moment, website members are "breaking up" with the former First Lady, or blasting her for embracing the politics of "fear and division" and plagiarizing attack themes from the McCain campaign, and have charged her with being two-faced. Diaries on the site are regularly passing on unsubstantiated media reports that the campaign is preparing to challenge Texas' primary rules, or find some scurrilous way to diminish the impact of a likely Obama victory there.
Although no representatives of the Obama or Clinton campaigns were reached or contacted for comment on this story, the inescapable conclusion is that Hillary Clinton is not popular on the Daily Kos website. Knowledgeable Daily Kos insiders predict that there will be many other diaries critical of Sen. Clinton, between now and the conclusions of the big primary contests on Tuesday.
Apparently, not only is Obama now leading Senator Clinton in polls of Texas Democrats, today Obama released a statement that actually destroyed Mrs. Clinton. It's not clear if the candidate will be able to recover from her destruction.
One thing that seems certain, however, is that the escalating trendline of diaries critical of Senator Clinton does not bode well for the Senator's prospects in the upcoming DailyKos reader's straw polls. Although no actual convention delegates are chosen by these straw polls, they serve as excellent predictors of Wesley Clark's apparently continuing strong chances of gaining the Vice-Presidential spot on the ticket.
Thank G-d it's Friday.
