Wolf Blitzer in his commentary on the Ohio projection commented that nobody had won a general election without carrying Ohio "A state that is critical for the Democrats and the Republicans in a general election no one has been elected President of the United States without carrying Ohio in a very long time, maybe a hundred years."
I felt like seeing if his guess was accurate. Not even close, Nixon won Ohio in 1960 but lost the general election.
Forty eight =/= hundred. Sorry Blitzer. I have to say that the main stations that run live election coverage have terrible impromptu commentary, with perhaps the exception of Olbermann.
