What kind of a "Democrat" talks up the Republican nominee and compares his fitness for the office of POTUS favorably against that of the odds-on Democratic nominee?!
This is the ONLY question Democrats should be asking themselves tonight.
Hillary just forfeited her right to be considered for the Democratic nomination today. (The "Connecticut for Lieberman" Party nomination should still be available to her.)
Paging Al Gore, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, etc.: The time to speak up is NOW. Hillary crossed a "threshold" today, but it's not the one she thinks.
Perhaps it is time for a concerted campaign to call Democratic Party "elders" and tell them we need them to denounce Hillary's fear-mongering and Republican cheerleading.
A fellow Kossack emailed me the following thought which puts the danger of what Hillary is doing in perspective:
Obama needs to say that Clinton wants to play out the general election on the Republicans' terms in a year when Democrats are outdrawing and outfundraising Republicans by huge margins.
But it shouldn't just be Obama saying this. It will have more credibility if those who have not yet endorsed his candidacy now come out and say it.
What Hillary is doing -- running the Republicans' campaign for them -- will not just hurt our chances of winning the presidency, it will hurt Democrats running for House and Senate EVERYWHERE. This MUST be stopped now.
So what do you think? Is it time for a round of calls to the offices of John Edwards: (919) 636-3131 and Al Gore: (615) 327-2227 ?
