Hillary Clinton's surge in the polls over the last week continued this morning, as she inched upwards another notch in Rasmussen's daily tracking poll. Clinton now leads Obama among all Democrats, 49 to 43.
Less than 10 days ago, Obama held a 9-point edge and appeared to have the nomination nailed down. The factors leading to this turnaround are difficult to quantify, but a series of campaign gaffes, renewed energy on the Clinton team, and two consecutive weeks of Saturday Night Live skits lampooning the media's soft treatment of Obama, have combined to give Hillary a strong edge.
In addition, Hillary holds a strong lead over Obama in Florida, according to Rasmussen: Clinton 55, Obama 39. Michigan is tied, with each candidate at 41 percentage points.
