McCain has been willing to do whatever is necessary to become President. Forget that George W. Bush accused him of helping cancer kill people? Check. Forget that George W. Bush's cronies accused him of having a black baby out of wedlock? Check. Abandon his view that South Carolina should remove the racist Confederate flag from its flag? Check. Reverse that view when he thinks it will not hurt his support anymore? Check. Cozy up to hateful, right-wing bastards like Jerry Falwell and John Hagee to shore up conservative support? Check.
McCain has given the quintessential non-apology apology / non-denial denial. Giving McCain every benefit of the doubt, McCain might not have known about John Hagee's hateful views toward Catholics. Being so forthright, McCain surely will reject John Hagee and his views now that he has been made aware of Hagee's views, right? Right?
Well, not so much.

McCain says he rejects Hagee's statements "if they are anti-Catholic or offensive to Catholics."
IF?
IF?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those are some crooked words from a straight-talker.
Should Catholics be offended when Hagee calls our Church the "Great Whore" or a "false cult system" (as opposed to what--a legitimate cult system?)? How can "if" have anything to do with it?
Tell me, St. John, should those statements be offensive to Catholics? Do you agree with those particular statements? Do you think that the statements are anti-Catholic?
Would McCain be offended if Obama called him a whore? Would McCain be offended if Obama called the Republican Party a false cult system?
The big issue is not whether John McCain is anti-Catholic. He is not. The big issue is that John McCain was willing to get down on his knees to pleasure another right-wing, Catholic-hating freak just to become President.
This "I am sorry if I offended anyone" or I do not agree with any comments "if they are racist" crap has to end. Either you admit you made a mistake and or you stand by your actions. Does McCain reject Hagee's hateful beliefs or not?
Which is it?
What are the odds the media recognizes the clear contradiction between John McCain's false "straight-talk" persona and this ridiculous statement?
