All right, I've had enough of the navel-gazing around here. If you're an Obama supporter, get up off the ground and do your job!
This diary will be extremely short, because I'm heading out soon and I don't have much to say. Except this:
CALM DOWN AND GET BACK TO DOING WHAT HELPED OBAMA WIN IN THE FIRST PLACE
Barack Obama did NOT win 11 contests in a row on his own. As he is very quick to point, we did that together. By the same token, Barack Obama cannot win in the future on his own. He will need our help.
We got to this insurmountable lead by donating.
We got to this insurmountable lead by phonebanking.
We got to this insurmountable lead by volunteering.
We did NOT get to this insurmountable lead by staring open-mouthed at the Clinton Campaign, wondering what new hit they'll put on our guy.
We did NOT get to this insurmountable lead by tarring and sliming Hillary Clinton, even though we knew full well that she would do that to our guy.
We did NOT get to this insurmountable lead by worrying and fretting about every little setback that happens to the campaign (NH? NV?). We knew that the campaign would be arduous, things wouldn't always go our way, and we kept working anyway.
Further, we will NOT get the nomination by playing her game of soundbites and news cycle obsessions. We WILL get the nomination by focusing on the ground operations and GOTV.
I'm not saying anything new here. I know that. You've heard this message before from probably a thousand diaries before. But the reason I'm repeating this message is because IT'S WORTH REPEATING. This campaign is not about you, or me, or him. It's about us, and what changes we can provide for ourselves.
Enough wallowing in our own self-pity. Nobody likes a crybaby, and nobody's going to give a prize to someone that doesn't WANT the prize to begin with. So...do you WANT to win, or do you want to look at your navel?
You and a million other people literally own this campaign. And we've still got a ways to go. So pick yourself up off the ground, dust yourself off, and get back to work. Rediscover your pride in this campaign, and finish the job.
Ignore Hillaryland. Calm down, and get back to winning.
