$4 a gallon fuel is here already, at least for diesel in north-east Connecticut. Today on the drive home several stations were up to $4.05/gal. The question is how much worse will it get?
I've been watching the prices creep up this week, about 10 cents every other day it seems. I went back and checked my records, I paid $3.86 on the 29th, $3.66 on the 22nd, and $3.56 on the 14th. Before that the price was flat, about $3.50 for a couple months. Usually about now the higher prices start to break as heating oil season comes to an end, so this spike is even more out of place.
I know there has been a lot of talk about $4/gal gas in the summer, but the cost of diesel is going to hit more than just the summer vacation.
