Greg Palast has uncovered that Chimpy may have lied again; this time about Hugo Chavez sending 300 million dollars to FARC, the rebel group in Colombia. Someone called IraqPundit has taken on Professor Cole over Sadr's withdrawl into religious study.
IraqPundit, in a rambling post that reminded me of something InstaPundit(sorry no link to that guy) might write when his wits were a touch addled, seems distressed. Professor Cole looks to have a source in Sawt al Iraq, albeit in Arabic, and a BBC story, whereas IraqPundit is able to drag in Samantha Power, quip about Ms. Power's comments to the BBC about Obama's Iraq withdrawl stance, and come close to outright ad hominum against Professor Cole. I have to agree with Professor Cole, Sadr is playing a political and religious game too. I thought you might like to dissect this yourselves.
Getting back to the Colombia business, and the Reyes assassination, the redoubtable Al Giordano's Narco News Bulletin posting an article from Garry Leech of Colombia Journal about derailing a prisoner exchange between Uribe's forces and FARC.
