The Space Shuttle Endeavour launched spectacularly this early morning, with the first part of the Japanese science module and the Dextre robotic arm from Canada.
A beautiful launch. Nothing like seeing one of those babies going up in the dark. Amazing. And one of the relatively few SST launches to go on the first attempt. The coverage from NASA TV was a bit odd, as they showed very little of the launch from the ground, and pictures from the external fuel tank were cut after the solid rocket booster separation, but I haven't seen a night launch for a long time, so I guess this is normal ("nominal").
In any case, they are in orbit successfully. Best wishes to all.
