We're on the road right now, on our way back from Charlotte.
I just saw $4.11 per gallon diesel. It's the first time I've seen gas over $4.00 per gallon in the US. Crazy!
But it pisses me off, I mean it really offends me, that Diesel is $.70 more expensive than gasoline.
This is simply Robbing People to Pay Profit.
The price of gasoline is low so that people will continue to buy it and still have money to purchase things. We'll still have money left to purchase more things made more expensive through skyrocketing Diesel fuel prices.
Every single thing that is shipped or transported and bought by Americans goes up in price as diesel fuel costs rise.
I'm no economist, but you don't have to be one to realize that this is stupid public policy. It hurts all Americans and America.
The same kind of Robbing People to Pay Profit is on display in for Profit Healthcare.
They make huge investments with our premiums. Premiums are raised to create bigger profit margins and then when the system busts are raised even more to protect those new found profit margins.
It's Robbing People to Pay Profit.
It's a sick, sick game, and it happens all over our anti-human economy.
In education. Our children are robbed of their education to create profit for the education industry. More testing, expensive books, larger class sizes, shitty pay for teachers. It goes on and on. Hell our children were robbed of their humanity during the Clinton Administration when Education Czar, Lou Gerstner of IBM stated that we need to treat our children as Human Capital in order to be competitive educationally.
That's funny, when we were a highly literate and educated society when we had the best secondary education on the planet, we did not need to think of our children as Human capital. We thought of them as kids, as future citizens and Americans.
We are being robbed of our ecological future - our air, our water and our ability to live in a healthy environment in the futre are being robbed from us to pay profit.
Human progress and protection of humanity are stomped out by our unhealthy focus on an economy that must grow or die.
Robbing People to Pay Profit is just shortsighted and immoral, and nowhere is this more evident than in the artificially high cost of Diesel and the artificially low cost of Gasoline.
