This Thursday and Friday, 11 of us will be publishing diaries all having to do with New Orleans, her recovery from the federal flood, and Katrina.
These are all important issues which, unfortunately, been downplayed not only by a mainstream media but also by candidates who seem to have forgotten that New Orleans is a part of this country and that her people are Americans who need help.
The firat diary will be posted at 7AM Pacific on Thursday, and the last posted at 5PM Pacific Friday. Here's the schedule:
Thursday, Mar. 20
7AM Louisiana 1976
9AM blueintheface
11AM chigh

To anybody who's paying attention to these issues--or just wants a respite from interminable campaign diaries--please read--and rec--these diaries. We need more than just beaucoup campaign diaries on the rec' list.
Now for April's Diary-Athon: I haven't come up with the exact date yet, but would like it to be about a month after this week's Diary-Athon.
Also, I'd like to change the name to "NOLA/Gulf Diary-athon" to reflect the fact that the flooding, Katrina and Rita devastated an area larger than Great Britain including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and Florida. So diarists in or involved in Mississippi and other affected areas outside NOLA would also be interested in participating.
