The one thing I haven't heard anybody, honestly, truly say in the MSM is of the three candidates left, which one of them looks and sounds "presidential."
Is there any doubt now? After Obama's speech today?
As Richard Jemmings, the James Carville knock-off character said in the movie "Primary Colors":
You see any other presidents up on that stage? We're it, man.
So let's face it here and now. Barack Obama is the most presidential of the bunch.
The media has dragged this on long enough. Is Barack black enough, is he experienced enough, is he old enough, is he strong enough.
Enough, already.
It's the "it" factor, when all is said and done. Who looks, sounds, acts more like a President?
Start with the obvious. It ain't McCain. Cripes, he acts and sounds like he has a stick up his butt for the last 20 years. He exudes "you kids get off my lawn."
Not Hillary (and no, not because she is a woman). Think about it. In the shadow of her husband, the last great Democratic hope, how can she compete? Would she make a great President? Sure. Is she "presidential," though? Does she have the "it" factor? Most would say no.
Barack does, though. So much so, he gave a major speech today. One which I don't think he actually had to give, mind you, but he did. It's core theme was unity around a common purpose. When was the last time you heard Bush give that speech, let alone Hillary or McCain?
It's more than a cult of personality, though it probably has something to do with it. It's about staring it down and seeming presidential.
And today, Barack did the most presidential thing I've seen so far in this campaign. Period.
