As I write this, Rick Sanchez is interviewing truckers on CNN who are unanimously supporting a general strike over the state of our economy.
It's time to stand up to the corporate fascists. It's time to stand up and be counted as a member of the collective, sovereign power of the United States, The People.
We are nothing more than peasants to be exploited in the eyes of the social aristocracy. I'm talking about the multiple-corporate-title-holding, self proclaimed "owners" of George Bush's "Ownership Society."
On March 3rd, Jerome a Paris published a diary which gives a graphic explanation of the root of the "financial crisis."
Quite simply, Bush and his corporate fascist allies have rigged the economy to funnel all gains in economic activity to a tiny elite of corporate-title holders. As the chart shows, these fascists are now even actively pushing the share of the pie by the majority of us into negative territory, literally taking what we have away from us, in addition to refusing to give us a share of the gains.
It is NOT an over-the-top description to call what is happening "fascist." In addition to the brazen attacks on the constitution, the rule of law, the republican divisions of power, our legal system, our rights and our liberties, the fascist movement, led by Bush, is seeking to create a permanant, structural dominance of our entire economy and culture by corporatist interests.
It is the anti-republican power structure of the corporate system which is driving the fascist movement, and emboldening it to position a rival system of sovereignty between the People and the Constitution. The rival system of sovereignty being implemented before our eyes is a social aristocracy. It is the most treasonous program to overthrow the American Revolution in our entire history.
So I say: Support the truckers. When they call a general strike, strike with them. The corporate title-holders need to understand who "owns" this country.
Clearly, the fascists will not listen to reason. They will not stop their program to "conquer the world." They will not, by themselves, change the system that is enriching them.
The next president needs to know and understand that the fascist movement is AT AN END. Constitutional amendments are needed to abolish the aristocratic, anti-republican system of multiple title-holding. Majority share-holding needs to be reformed. Republican reforms of corporate structure are needed, if we are to have republican government at all.
If we are to have a free press, if we are to have universal health care, if we are to have free public education, if we are to put an end to fascist "incarceration-for-profit," if we are to HAVE A SHARE OF THE FRUITS OF OUR LABOR, then we must put the corporate charter in proper perspective.
Corporate charters are granted by the people, for public benefit . Corporate profit is an incentive. It is not an entitlement. It is not a grant of aristocratic title. It is not a license to buy or steal elections. It is not a structure created to legalize bribery. It is not a right to decide what information the public will be given, and which it will be denied. It is not a grant of marque, to wage wars and schemes of exploitation all over the world. The People grant corporate charters, and they MAY NOT be used to the detriment of the people.
HOW is it that Bush and Cheney commit crimes, sytematically and brazenly, even war crimes, and our system of government does not hold them accountable? It is because they have the support of the fascist movement, and the large corporations that enable it. Bush has thrown down the guantlet, and challenged the American People to assert that we HAVE a republican government. Absent our reproach, he assumes the mantle of sovereign, fetes his aristocratic supporters, and implements the mechanics of a fascist state.
We cannot allow this to stand. We cannot allow this despicable criminal and his social aristocrat allies to take our republic from us. Ben Franklin remarked that we have a republic, but only if we can keep it. It is time to show that we can keep it.
The financial crisis that is upon us is a symptom of the disease. This kind of tragedy befalls aristocratic empires, and fascism is only the old imperialist ideology dressed in corporate clothing. Simply, systems that are unjust fall apart, because they cannot sustain popular support. We are BEYOND a "lack of popular support." We must take action to save ourselves.
Update: One commentator noted that ILWU is staging a protest of the Iraq War on May 1st. The entire imperialist, fascist agenda is characterized by their addiction to false patriotism and imperial wars. Is it connected to the financial crisis, the economic problems, the "forward-leaning" stance of the fascists abroad and at home? You betcha. If the truckers want to pick a day to call a general strike, they could pick the day ILWU has chosen.
