Throughout my short life (20 years and counting), I have always been a Democrat, a progressive, and some may even call me a liberal. When I was 9 years old in 1996, I remember making and putting a Clinton-Gore poster outside of my house. From what I remember, the Clinton years were pretty good years for our economy and our way of life.
I have stood up for President Clinton as I have gotten more involved in politics whenever someone has bad mouthed him or his presidency. But over the past couple of months, I am seeing a different side of Bill Clinton.
With his "fairy tale" comment, or his Jesse Jackson comments in South Carolina, or even the more recent comments trying to make Barack seem unpatriotic, he is dimishing his own success as president.
He is contributing to the misrepresentation of Barack's character and in doing so, is tearing apart the Democratic party. Due to his need to win, without regard of the possibly damaging cost, he is weaking out party and is providing the media with the fodder that the Dems don't know what they're doing and are losing a golden opportunity to win in November.
I loved Bill Clinton's presidency and I think he was a very good president, with many accomplishments; however, my respect for him, given his divisive, comments, has been greatly diminished.
