The country is battered by 8 years of Republican mismanagement. What will be the impact of four more years?
If McCain should somehow win, what will you do?
Now myself, I really don't believe McBush will win the White House. I've talked to lots of folks, some who voted for Bush, some were on the fence before, but now they want CHANGE, and they all agree change can't happen if the White House stays red.
Of course I do live in a more saner part of the country so my views are limited to the immediate area. I was wondering what most people around the country are seeing.
There's still that possibility Saint McCain wins. If he does, are you packing it in? You could go to Canada, seems like a good choice, it's close by, and with Global Warming spreading, it would take a while to affect most of that country. Money rates are about even so no big loss there. You may even be able to keep some of your stuff.
Mexico is another choice. Drug dealers along the border may make it tough to hang around in Tijuana, and it may trigger anti-immigrant backlash among the natives (Those damned GRINGOS!). Dollar to Peso rates are still pretty good, but Global Warming could really impact the country for the worse. On the really negative side, you would probably need a bodyguard to avoid being kidnapped.
Europe looks inviting, just about anywhere would be an acceptible locale, but you would have to sell just about all your possesions, and the dollar to euro rate really sucks so you would have to take that one on the chin. Global Warming poses as much a threat in Europe as it does on the continental U.S.
Japan and Korea could work, but those places are already over crowded. Besides, I'm pretty tall so those overnight boxes they sleep in wouldn't work too well for me. China is too smoggy.
I had a friend get married and move to New Zealand. She loves it there but she does miss home. Global Warming might take a good chunk of this country and put it under water. Australia might work.
This is a choice I would really not want to make. I would miss friends and family, cheesesteaks, hoagies, and Tastykakes (yes, Im from the Philly area!), plus I'd hate to get rid of all my stuff. It does warrant some thought, don't you think?
