Despite how difficult the past 7 years have been under Shrub's presidency, we must continue to fight.
I decided to write this diary as a "war cry" of sorts and to add some positive vibes. Too often, we're consumed with candidate diaries and so-forth and lacking in positive reinforcement.
How many of you remember in 2004 when somehow, George W.Bush managed to steal yet another election? Were you disappointed? Angry? It's safe to say that the only people who were happy were the fools who cast a vote for him.
But 2008 is here. As Democrats, progressives and even independents, we never stopped believing. Can you just feel change in the air like I can? Can you just see a memorable showdown in November between the Democratic and Republican nominees? Can you just taste victory in November?
We've got to do better than the way things are now. People are hurting. People are losing their homes. They're losing their sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters to this unjust war in Iraq. Sick people are being denied healthcare everyday by greedy healthcare companies. Our rights are being trampled everyday by the Patriot Act and other sneaky acts.
It's time to wrap up the Democratic nomination and stockpile ammo to take on John W. McCain. No one wants one more Bush term. No one wants to see a 100, 1000 or even 10,000 year continuation of the war in Iraq. We Americans deserve better than this from our elected representatives.
So, 2008 shall be the year that America rises again on the world stage. 2008 shall be the year that we elect better Democrats that will bring their progressive ideas and solutions to the table. 2008 shall be the year that we elect Barack Obama to the presidency of the United States of America!
I can forgive Hillary and I urge the rest of you to. However, I also urge Hillary to step aside for the sake of the Democratic Party.
A party divided, will fall.
People divided, will fall.
We all must stand tall, stand proud and reclaim what is rightfully ours.
Let 2008 be the year that Americans revive this great Democracy of ours and right the wrongs of the Bush administration!
