As a diversion from the heated Democratic primary race and other political/social topics, I'd like to talk about what I consider to be one of our society's greatest developments: breakfast cereal.
I love the stuff. Always have. When I was a kid, it was literally all I'd eat, much to my mother's annoyance. Even today, it typically makes up a large part of my daily caloric intake. I can, quite happily, eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
What's my favorite cereal? Weetabix. I discovered 'em while on a family trip to Great Britain during the early 1980's. Fortunately, they have since become readily available in the States.
For the unfamiliar, Weetabix are large, slightly sweet, oval-shaped biscuits of pressed wheat flakes. They quickly absorb milk and soon take on a porridge-type consistency, resulting in a bowl of milky, sloppy, wheaty goodness.
Bonus: My g/f despises them, thinks they resemble wallpaper paste in their ideal form, so I don't have to worry about her stealing them.
