Fellow Kossacks,
As you're probably aware, the Olympic torch will make only one stop in the US -- right here in San Francisco, next Wednesday the 9th.
So, to protest the Chinese government's brutal crackdown on Tibetans seeking autonomy, CREDO Action is teaming up with Students for a Free Tibet to have a visible presence along the torch route next Wednesday.
Below please find (if the formatting and images come through, we'll see about that) the newsletter we just put out to our Bay Area activist base. Let me invite all of you to join us as well -- it should be a great event with thousands of people in attendance and we hope to generate a LOT of favorable press for the Tibetan freedom movement.
(And, as always, if you have any questions, do feel free to drop me a note at my profile address.)
Thanks!!

Stand up for Tibet as the Olympic torch visits San Francisco
This week the Chinese government called the Dalai Lama a "wolf in monk's robes" and his followers the "scum of Buddhism." It's just the latest outrage as China continues its brutal crackdown on courageous Tibetans who are demonstrating for greater political autonomy.
On April 9, we have a chance to show China and the world that CREDO members in the San Francisco Bay Area stand with Tibet. Join us in protest as the Olympic Torch relay makes its only North American stop -- a run along San Francisco's Embarcadero.
Here's how you can take a stand for Tibetan freedom:
1. Sign Our Petition
Let's all tell the Chinese government to end its violent crackdown in Tibet. Sign our petition here:
http://act.credomobile.com/...
...and then please encourage some friends to sign as well. We'll deliver everyone's signed petitions to the Chinese Consulate on April 9th.
2. Join us on April 9th
Hit the streets with the staff and members of CREDO Mobile to protest the Chinese government's actions as the torch passes by.
Sign Pickup: Noon -- 1:00 PM
Torch Protest: 1:00 -- 2:30 PM

Click here to volunteer to help pass out signs at the event.
We're planning to meet and pass out signs starting at 12 noon in Ferry Park, near where Washington Street meets the Embarcadero (just north of Justin Herman plaza). We'll do our best to let everyone know of any changes by email, but please include your mobile phone number when you reserve a sign at the links above so that we can text-message you with updates if needed.
Thank you for working to build a better world.
