How often have you heard Republicans rail against Democrats they categorize as the intellectual elite. Their argument attepts to wedge the less educated against those with more education.
Those fancy liberals with all their book learning think they're better than you kind of stuff. They even call you stupid because you vote your values against your economic interests. They push the argument even further claiming that all the universities are contaminated with liberal professors that fill the minds of our youth with communist propaganda. What they conveniently omit is that most conservatives are more interested in lining their pocketbooks and wallets instead of toiling as college proffessors on educators wages.
True to their hypocritical form, Republicans have now formed their own what I call pseudo intellectual elite club in the forms of Rush Limbaugh(the stoner), Glenn Beck( know it all big man on campus), and Ann Coulter( The pass around campus anorexic political whore). I levy these charges against this troubled trio because they have taken it among themselves in deciding that Republicans through the process of their primaries and caucuses were stupid in nominating John McCain as their presidential candidate. The purpose of my diary entry is not to make a case for John McCain whom I'm constantly confusing with Bob Dole, but to illustrate how the far right talking heads are insulting the same people that they claim to have shared values with. Now I'm quite aware that these three stooges will from now to election day pivot more times that Wilt Chamberlain cohabitated untill they claim that they were with McCain all along because they fear that a democrat in the whote house will result in a communist welfare state over run by terrorists. These wanna-be King makers were upset that their super CEO Mitt Romney failed to connect with Republican voters because in my opinion he came off to them as un-authentic so they went with McCain. Isn't it ironic that McCain by his own admission knows little to nothing about economics which connects with their "values" voters.
When you lok at McCain's innability to raise funds, we can conclude that this circle of pseudo republican intellectualism extends far beyond the talking head whack jobs of the far right. This is why I'm convinced that we will win the White House. The GOP just isn't capable of practicing what they preach.
