I am curious, and maybe someone has already posted this, if so I apologize for repeating it, would you all vote for re-votes in Florida and Michigan if you knew that Hillary would win them by large margins derailing Obama's candidacy.
I don't see how the Democratic Party can survive with the disenfranchising two of the biggest swing states, Obama supporters delusions that it won't matter, notwithstanding. I am not sure that the DNC had the right to make such a draconian punishment to two state for moving up their primary elections. Where is the authority for the DNC to do that and I doubt it ever would have happened if Howard Dean didn't have a vendetta against the Clintons.
We know that Republicans always stick together, no matter how bad their candidate is. If they voted for George W. Bush, they can certainly vote for John McCain. With all the problems Obama has and here they are below, what will that do to his chances of beating McCain if he gets the nomination?
- Obama lies- only 5 hours for Rezko, in the pews, not in the pews, Selma, Reagan was what the country needed and the Republicans had all the ideas.
- The fact that he would attack a very very successful Democratic Administration, with lies, for only the political purpose to hurt his opponent.
- Jeremiah Wright, and maybe even Louis Farrakhan, waiting in the wings to get into the Lincoln bedroom. He has never really disavowed Wright and for all we know, he is still Obama's mentor.
- His arrogance, which I saw in that interview at the Reno Gazette, which non of you watched, and it is becoming more obvious to people who just don't believe he has more experience or is more astute in foreign relations than Hillary or McCain.
- I really don't think Obama can win if Michigan and Florida are punished disproportionately to their going against DNC rules.
- Many people do not like Michelle Obama.
One quick note on Florida and Michigan, there are many constitutional fights over the rights of states vs. the federal government. The tenth Amendment of the US Constitution says:
Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
I don't think Howard Dean and the DNC rate that kind of power over the states, as does the United States. Also, the alleged offense was one of convenience and visibility. Therefore, the consequence should be the same, like sitting in the back of the convention hall, given the worst hotel accommodations and no snacks or refreshments during recess. Imagine if you mooned someone and as a punishment you would not be allowed to vote. What the DNC did was wrong and gratuitous and Obama and Dean will be blamed for it and it will cost Obama the election. Many will not consider themselves Democrats if this punishment is allowed to stand and there are no re-votes, in order to protect Obama's lead. You all know what I am talking about and therefore I invite you to participate in my poll regarding this issue, which is much bigger than we all can imagine.
