It is becoming really difficult for me to hear or read any words coming out of Hillary Clinton's mouth these days.
For better or worse, she has embraced the Clintonian caricature and perfected the art of mendaciousness, dissembling, lying, pandering, kneecapping and downright bullshit.
Imagine my flaming anger when turning to an article out today in the St. Petersburg Times. She sat down for an interview with the paper and continued to lay the jackhammer into our (Democrats) chances in the general election by calling into question Obama's legitimacy as the nominee.
There is almost too much steaming bullshit in this article to address at one sitting but I'll try to bring you the highlights.
... See more after the fold ...
Here starts the pain:
Clinton dismissed the suggestion that she had snubbed Florida primary voters by signing an oath not to campaign in the state, which ran afoul of DNC rules by holding its primary Jan. 29. Only four states are allowed to hold elections earlier than Feb. 5.
"Apparently voters didn't think so. When you look, we had more than a million people turn out than turned out previously," she said.
"They followed it, they were avidly interested in it, and they wanted their votes to count. Otherwise people would have just blown it off. That is not what happened."
Yeah, and what about my Floridian sister, brother-in-law and cousin (and the tens if not hundreds of thousands of other voters) who stayed home and didn't bother to vote because they were told that the results weren't going to count? What about THEM, Senator?
So why didn't she speak up sooner about the need to count the votes of Florida Democrats, rather than wait until her campaign was in trouble after losses in Iowa and South Carolina?
"I was a little preoccupied,'' she said, laughing. "I was trying to stay alive, frankly."
Is there an emoticon for unbridled fury? "I was a little preoccupied"!?!? Seriously, Senator!? I can just hear her cackling laughing in that room, thinking to herself how stupid we all must be to say something so imperially, moronically and profoundly stupid as that... "Preoccupied" caused you to make a pledge to not campaign or participate in the Florida elections!? How dare you, Senator, how DARE you!?
The Obama campaign has consistently dismissed the significance of the Florida contest, saying an election without campaigning is not a real test of electoral strength.
Nonsense, Clinton said.
"Then why did he run a nationwide cable buy? Why did he up his (TV) buy in southern Georgia because it went over the border? Why did he ship in yard signs and all the rest of it?" the former first lady said. "He competed, come on."
Obama's campaign has said it tried to exclude Florida from a national cable TV ad buy but couldn't, and the Clinton campaign could provide no evidence that Obama bought extra TV time along Florida's northern border. Campaign aides said Clinton was repeating something she heard from a supporter.
Anger... rising... She seriously said that "Obama competed"! How f'ing stupid do you think we are, Senator? A national cable ad buy that unavoidably bled over to Florida on a couple of occasions counts as competing!?
As expected, my writing of this diary has caused my blood pressure to rise. I need a drink.
Will someone wake me up when the DNC stops this horrible, horrible person?
