Friends, we have ridden the roller coaster of Rev. Wright and "Bittergate"and now polling is coming out that speaks volumes for Obama's electability. But the real siren song for Dem. Superdelegates is Charlie Cook, he of the famed "Cook Report", the Insider's Insider. Today MSNBC has posted his column stating that Hillary has about a 5% chance for the nomination. More after the jump, but here's the link to the MSNBC site: "Bittergate" Too Late to Save Clinton
Okay, boys and girls, we can scream until we can't scream no more, and none of it is as powerful as the merest whisper from Charlie Cook. His column is the gold standard for political analysis for the true elites out there, the ones with the power to overturn the votes of hundreds of Democrats thousands of ordinary Democrats. With all the fuss about "elitism", you'd think somebody would point out that the most elitist thing in the universe would be for the political elite to overturn the will of the people. Clinton's sole shot is for more damaging stuff from Obama, but we've learned it has to be real stuff, not a manufactured controversy that voters can smell a mile away as the sad scent of desperate Clinton flopsweat.
So, cheer up. Charlie Cook's column is considered to be balanced analysis (and I sure don't agree with everything he says here, so that's probably a good indication that he is impartial). He doesn't say Obama is the greatest thing since sliced bread. But he says Clinton has a 5% chance of winning. Let's toast that with a shot and a beer.
