With the national spotlight on Pennsylvania, we've seen just how bad George Bush's presidency has hit working families. That's why SEIU's more than 70,000 Pennsylvania members have spent weeks talking to their coworkers and voters about Barack Obama's plans for Pennsylvania families.
Across the country at SEIU, we know (many of you) in the Daily Kos community are doing everything you can to elect Barack Obama as the next President of the United States.
We've worked together recently to support progressive candidates in primaries, like Donna Edwards and progressive legislation on the Hill, like net neutrality.
Today, I wanted to take a moment to share with you what we're doing to support Barack Obama in Pennsylvania.
I don't know if you've seen this video yet, but this is Senator Obama walking a day in the shoes of Homecare Worker Pauline Beck:
It's this kind of commitment to working families that has SEIU members so excited about the electing Barack Obama as the next President of the United States.
That's why we've gone big in Pennsylvania:
We've knocked on more than 150,000 doors.
We had a rally this morning in Philadelphia before fanning out across the city to get voters to the polls for Obama.
In Philadelphia alone we are running the GOTV operation for the Obama campaign in nine wards across the city.
We've run nearly $1 million in television ads supporting Senator Obama. You can see the latest, here:
In addition to this, we have print pieces hitting the state as well as mobile billboards, and phone banks ID'ing voters and making sure they get out to vote for Senator Obama today.
Whatever happens tonight, we're proud of the work we've done in Pennsylvania and will continue to do on behalf of Senator Obama all the way to the White House.
And we look forward to working with you this election cycle to elect more and better Democrats this November as well.
