I have to say, I am ready for this primary to be over. It stresses me out. Enough is enough. I'm so sick of the Clinton campaign and Clinton supporters constantly changing strategies and constantly trying to spin this election in their favor, when it's clear that any way you look at it: they lose.
Jon Corzine was just on CNN, talking about how if Hillary can pick up $200k+ votes in Pennsylvania then they should count Florida which would give her another 300k+ cut into the popular vote. What about DELEGATES? What about CAUCUSES?
It's very convenient to look at "popular vote" because Hillary is totally losing the delegate count...but, the delegates take ALL voters into consideration and the popular vote does NOT. It leaves out the caucus goers and last I checked, they were just as worthy as the rest of us.
I'm glad the CNN commentator made that point, but we need to be hearing that more often: Clinton has NO problem excluding and discounting voters who went for Obama via caucuses, but she's all up in a huff over Florida. If you want to play the "every vote counts" card, then make sure every VOTER counts - that means caucus totals, not just popular vote totals.
Hillary Clinton: Enough. STOP. Accept defeat and move on. I am sick of seeing your multiple personalities. I am sick of your constantly changing message. I am sick of YOUR bitterness and your negative campaigning. I'm sick of seeing Bill's red puffy face saying ridiculous things on every station. I am sick of your supporters on every station trying to spin your losses in a dozen different ways to make it seem as if somehow you win. You dont: you've lost.
Barack Obama has had the same message throughout the entire campaign. Heck, if you look at his DNC speech in 2004, he had the same message then. And his message is a genuine, authentic and hopeful one. And his message is winning. Yours (or rather, your multiple messages) are not. Accept it. Move on.
PS: This is a true "diary" - more of a rant to myself that I've decided to make public.
Serenity now. Serenity now.
[Update: 57andFemale made a good point: Rules are Rules. The Clintons, nor the superdelegates, can go and start making their own rules about how the primaries should be elected. A president has to play by the "rules" (aka THE LAW) and if someone has to bend the rules, break the rules, or ignore the rules in order to become president...well, it doesn't bode well for them following the law of the land. Some part of me just really doesn't believe that HRC will not continue at least some of Bush's tradition of not following the law and having a strong executive power. Everything about the way she's sought to win this election suggests that she wants a LOT of power. Sigh.]
