Another primary has come and gone, and our party is still in a strange limbo regarding its eventual nominee. In the meantime, John McCain and the Republicans are working to consolidate their base - and we are starting to miss our opportunity to define him as the candidate he truly is. I have start a website, DearSuperdelegates, as a way for ordinary people to express their views on the primary situation.
More after the jump.
While the media have gone on and on about the most states won, the popular vote, and various other metrics for determining a nominee, the fact remains that our party will choose its nominee based on delegates.
Sen. Obama has won the most pledged delegates. As such, I feel strongly that he should be our nominee. The superdelegates should vote to affirm the will of the people, and they should come out and say so soon. In so doing, our party can finally move on to winning back the White House in November.
Dearsupers.com is dedicated to encouraging superdelegates to vote with the people.
We hope to build a movement through this website, and could use your help to do so. The first step is getting people to visit the site and sign on in the comments, and spreading the word both on and offline. From there, we can take our effort to the superdelegates. It seems that many are still sitting on the sidelines...it's our job to get them off - for the good of the Democratic Party!
