I just want to take time out of all the election stories and post a success story about one of our downtrodden Corporate-Americans who went from riches to mega-riches. It is a story how one CEO was able to overcome all the odds set against him and use the "pays to fail" technique that was set up for him in Congress by our elected officials from the 1980's trhough today.
It is a heart warming story about Angelo Mozilo of Countrywide Financial Group who worked his way to CEO and slammed thousands of people with sub-prime loans. Then, just before is house of cards fell apart, he sold his stock for 121 million dallars. Also, let's not forget that on top of his company losing 704 million dollars he was given a 10.8 million dollar compensation package for a job well done.
Isn't it heart warming that in this day of thousands of employees of corporations loosing their jobs in this, as President Bush states, "Economic bump in the road", that a few Corporate-Americans are succeeding financially for their retirement years.
I think that we should also call our Senators and Representatives to thank them for their diligence on deregulating and non-regulating the banking industry so this and other success stories could happen. Just go to fed.gov and find out if your elected official accepted pac money from the banking industry.
