This is my 1st diary, so please bear with me.
Anyone who is a fan of football knows about playing prevent defense when you are trying to protect a lead. Essentially, you play soft, try not to make any mistakes and hope the time runs out before your opponent can score enough points to win. As a fan of the team in the lead it can be incredibly frustrating to watch and more then one team has seen itself on the wrong side of an improbable comeback.
Watching Obama and his campaign go into prevent mode the past few weeks is having the same mind-numbing effect. He's allowed Senator Clinton and the MSM to set the narrative for nearly a month. Where are the aggressive responses, the re-framing of the issues, etc. A positive Obama quote or appearance has rarely dominated the news cycle the past few weeks. This afternoon, instead of allowing Joe Watkins and other "analysts" to set the narrative, Obama should have been doing the rounds of national media. Getting his message out there in his own words.
It's been frustrating to watch and hopefully we don't lose this game on a Hail Mary.
