There are a few rules for getting noticed here lately. While previous diaries have endeavored to sum up what it takes to get noticed and get love on DKos -- and with greater humor -- I think the subject needs to be revisited. There may be people who have not figured out how to get the internet love and approval they desperately covet. So, here goes:
On Dkos, you should either express great admiration for Obama or great disapproval for Clinton, If you can add news about some new endorsement of Obama, especially from a superdelegate, this will be greeted with warm applause. Attacking Clinton's plans to influence the superdelegates will get your diary many recs.
If you are foolish enough to tackle some other topic, you should probably limit your concern to blasting elected Democrats for spinelessness on FISA or the Iraq war.
However, if it has been several days since any anti-Lieberman diaries have appeared, you might want to scan the media for something you could write about concerning the Senator from Connecticut. Attacking Lieberman probably increases your odds of hitting the rec list about hundredfold.
If these avenues seem to be covered by current diaries, you can always fall back on diaries about Chris Matthews, Fox News, or Keith Olbermann. Just be sure that you criticize or praise correctly. Do not make the mistake of thinking that approval of Olbermann extends to his MSNBC comrade, Matthews.
Your last resort would be to find an article or editorial in the NY Times or the Washington Post to criticize. People love that. They will provide you with a deafening echo chamber. Nobody respects these papers, or the work their reporters and editors do on a daily basis. That's why we all read them. So, we can find things to criticize. Your contribution will be appreciated.
Do not bother writing about John McCain. No one really cares -- Hillary Clinton is the enemy, not McCain. Besides, this stuff gets covered enough by the front-page stories, unlike the stories about the Democratic primary race.
If you think there might be some other issue of interest here, please think again. Unless you have a good idea for a meta diary....That's always good for a bunch of recs.
I hope you find these guidelines to be helpful.
