I am a strong supporter and believer in Sen. Obama and his campaign. For the first time in my life, I have donated money and have done the telephone thing several times for a candidate. But for the life of me I can't figure why Sen. Obama is taking these asinine hits from Jeremiah Wright (I refuse to call him Rev. because he has left the spirit of the pulpit with his narcissistic behavior). Wright has created questions about Obama's sincerity with that "he like all politicians" crap and, most importantly, he is obviously trying to hurt Obama presidential run. What should Obama do? If he does nothing, he is going to loose the election, possibly even the nomination.
He could do something now and put all of this behind him. I am not a political strategist but you don’t have to be one in this case because this is a ‘gut’ issue. If he is offended by what Obama has said of him, he needs to let America know it. The last thing I want to believe is that Wright’s comments about Obama has some legitimacy. I think many other voters feel the same way. Wright has begun to make me feel like I do when I eat tainted food, my sensitive stomach want to expel it as quickly as possible.
Therefore, I believe the current Wright situation has made it imperative that Obama use his best talent: writing and talking about who he is and why Wright comments are offensive to him and to the millions of Americans who support him. He has to explain what I and I think millions of other Americans are beginning to feel and that Wright is not the same man he was years ago.
If Obama did this, he would be able to disengage himself from this loose canon. He needs to clearly define what is going on before others define it for him. If he doesn’t do it, he is going to appear weak. Americans don’t want that in a president. I think Americans are going to wonder if he lets this crank off, what he will do when other such individuals or groups come after him. He needs to show decisive strength now.
