Ever since Obama made the now infamous "bitter" comment, Clinton and her surrogates have labeled him "elitist" and "out-of-touch" with the American people.
I believe that he was trying to express the frustration of those that have been promised year after year that the problems that affect them personally, health care, gas prices, the economy, etc. would be fixed but never have. Those voters feeling that frustration, knowing that politicians pander, backed the candidate who stood for the three Gs (god, guns and gays) instead of voting for their best interests.
If he's anything, Obama is a realist.
On the other hand, there is the Clinton campaign staged gas station event yesterday. Her and her entire campaign are manufactured, from the events to every word out of her mouth to the feigned outrage. At this point, we all know how the gas station visit went as the AP reported:
Trailing Wilfing and Clinton was a Secret Service motorcade consisting of six gas-guzzling Suburbans, two squad cars and a green SUV bearing photographers and TV cameras. Several other reporters and cameramen stood shivering in unseasonably cold temperatures, ready to capture the multi-vehicle arrival.
Clinton and Wilfing stepped out of the car and approached the pump. Wilfing chose regular unleaded gasoline, and began filling the tank. The two engaged in chit chat, with New York senator mentioning her proposal for a temporary gas tax holiday to ease the price pinch on consumers.
The entire event was staged to make a point of high gas prices. However, during the reporter Q and A, another point was made that was shown on Countdown last night. When asked about the price of gas she responded,
Oh, I haven't personally bought it for a long time because of the Secret Service. So, I have a unique situation but I sure have heard a lot from so many people about what it costs them to buy gas.

How can one call someone else "elitist" and "out of touch" when they themself haven't experienced the issues with which ordinary folks deal on a daily basis?
Oh yeah, then there's the whole convenience store coffee machine incident from later in the day. That one speaks for itself.
