The Obama campaign currently has 69 offices in North Carolina and Indiana staffed by high-quality, dedicated, selfless people who are contributing to this amazing effort to install a transparent, open executive who can help this country start to get back on track.

Let's show them that their efforts have not been unnoticed.

On Monday night, let's make sure each one of these offices receives a food delivery from a DailyKos reader.

This diary is a preliminary organizational tool which I hope will enable us to make this happen on Monday.  Or in short, we need volunteers!

Above is a table listing each Obama office, with a corresponding cell for dkos commenters who will volunteer to have food delivered/brought to that office on Monday night.

Okay, so at this point, this effort needs:

  1. A diarist who has time on Monday to post the actual fundraising diary, and continuously update the table as commenters volunteer for each office.
  1. Lists of good local restaurants who will accept phone orders.

In other words, we need help in order to make sure this little show of appreciation is executed properly on Monday.

Can anyone help out!!  Pretty please :-)

UPDATE: Sending food to campaign offices is an in-kind campaign contribution.  Just keep in mind, anyone who contributes to this effort must be a US citizen eligiible to contribute, and the cost of the deliveries counts towards the $2,300 max.  In-Kind Contributions Form.

Add keywords that describe this diary. Separate multiple keywords with commas.
Tagging tips - Search For Tags - Browse For Tags

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

  •  Any help with this would be beyond appreciated (8+ / 0-)

Either volunteering to publish and update the diary, or help to locate and set up restaurant contacts.  Obama's campaign staff and volunteers deserve a little love from DKos Obama supporters the night before the primaries.  Let's make this happen.

Realistically, that's all I could do. I wonder if that's an option or possibility (or even legal?)-- maybe something thru PayPal distributed out to reimburse those who place orders.

I called the Boone office and he said someone from New York was already going to feed them Monday night. So I guess under DailyKos Id we can just put down NY for Boone.

I have sent an email to Waiter on the Way (they have this service in some of the major cities) and asked their policy on credit card use and signing for the bill (if that makes any sense) - I am waiting for a reply... you outed yourself?????

Because I called that office and gave them my real name, and they are familiar with dkos, lol!!!

But you are awesome, GeeMa!  I'm in the process of getting my delivery together as we speak: I called a pizza restaurant and just got a contact to the campaign office; the restaurant is going to take my order for salad, sandwiches, water and pizza.  Promised a good deal, too!

As an aside, when I called Boone for the second time after you did, the staffer joked that they thought about taking a double order because of your kind offer, but didn't want to risk taking double at the expense of another office.  That's how nice these people are.  Thank you so much for supplying these nice people at Boone, it is appreciated by them and me!

      Check out Pager's food delivery.

he was a sweetheart, and so was the female staffer with whom I originally spoke.  As for the number of people question, it was like 10-15.  They seemed very touched, very kind, and appreciative of anything that you're going to be sending them.  If you can get a Japenese or Chinese delivery to send them $40-$50 worth of food, I think they'd be delighted.

...We were actually a little nervous.  Hillary supporters have been playing games with our phones over the last couple days and we thought you were a Hillary plant trying to find out how many vols we had working on E-Day Eve so that her people could deploy their paid canvassers effectively to counter our volunteers.

Then we checked out DKos and saw this was going on after you ID'd it.

Because I called that office and gave them my real name, and they are familiar with dkos, lol!!!

Of course we're familiar with DKos.  There isn't a field staffer over 30 on the campaign.  =D

If by liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind .. someone who cares about the welfare of the people .. then I'm proud to say I'm a liberal JFK
