Another election, another dirty trick by the Repugnant aka Republican Party.
Last night, State Rep. Don Cazayoux of New Roads polled 49,702 votes to defeat the right wing loon Republican Woody Jenkins of Baton Rouge, who got 46,741 votes, for the District 6 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. This after Cazayoux defeated State Rep. Michael Jackson, an African-American, in the Democratic primary runoff last month.
Today we learn that yesterday, on election day, a number of homes in Baton Rouge’s predominantly black neighborhoods were phoned with a tape-recorded message asking black voters to teach white Democrats a lesson by staying home and not casting ballots. The ad signed off as "Friends of Michael Jackson."
I know, I know... what an ass Jackson is! But not so fast my friends!
Jackson said he was not involved or connected in any way with the calls.
WHAT!?!? If Jackson was not involved in these called, who could it be? This would clearly be a violation of election laws. Who could possible do this? I wonder who?
State Democratic Party Chairman Christopher Whittington said the calls violated election law, and the party would take appropriate action against whoever was responsible. But who could it be? I wonder.

To be fair, Jackson was not a good loser. He did not endorse Cazayoux and vows to run against him in the Fall General Election. But he has said he was not behind these calls.
Did they work? Well voting in majority black precincts was down. But yet again, African-American voters showed they are our most reliable voting block. Check this out. The top precincts are the majority black precincts. 295-6 in one. 318-6 in another!
My fellow Kossacks, meet our new DEMOCRATIC congressman to help our majority! Cazayoux’s father is a small-business owner in New Roads, and his mother is a retired teacher. Cazayoux earned psychology degrees from LSU and a law degree from Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C.
He and his wife Cherie have been married for 21 years and have three children.
During Cazayoux’s eight years as a representative, he has sponsored or co-sponsored at least 117 bills, according to public records.
Many of the bills from Cazayoux, a former assistant district attorney, involved criminal matters, particularly with regard to sexual predators.
Outside of criminal law, Cazayoux said he broke ground on legislative ethics before Gov. Bobby Jindal made it an issue. He introduced bills relating to lobbying and income disclosure.
His measure in the 2007 Legislature asked legislators to disclose their income but did not pass. But Cazayoux was able to co-sponsor a bill requiring people who lobby the executive branch to register and disclose what they spend on lobbying.
Republicans tried to tie the "albatross" of Obama around his neck (as Woody Jenkins' best friend Pat Buchanan said) but we proved that Obama is anything but an albatross. This is a precursor to November! In spite of Repugnants dirty tricks, we will continue to win!
