The races after the break...
Fourth Update at 9:00pm. Final update barring a big surprise.
This is my final update. These things can drag on for quite some time, and I'd like to go and celebrate the big Obama victory tonight. It looks like these races are almost decided anyway. WRAL.com is saying that 15% of the precincts are in and it looks like Kay Hagan will handily defeat Jim Neil and will face Elizabeth Dole in the General Election. Beverly Perdue continues to hold against Richard Moore, and it looks like that races is almost decided. There is somewhat of a closer race on the Republican side, but Pat McCrory is holding his own against Fred Smith. I expect Perdue and McCrory to have a very close race this fall.
Senate (DEM)
The Democrat who prevails in the primary Senate race will have the task of taking on Elizabeth "the Kansan" Dole in the general election. Based on recent polling, Kay Hagan may have this wrapped up, but don't count out Jim Neal, who has a plethora of enthusiastic supporters.

Governor (DEM)
In a race marred by negative attacks, can Beverly Perdue hold off Richard Moore in the race to replace Governor Mike Easley?

Governor (REP)
This may actually be the closest race of the night. Pat McCrory has led in the polls throughout most of this primary season, but we've seen a recent surge from Fred Smith. We might want to pull for Fred tonight, because McCrory has been a moderate, popular mayor of the Charlotte and may pose a difficult opponent in the fall.

Bill Graham (REP) 9.07% 19,821
Pat McCrory (REP) 45.27% 98,929

E. Powers (REP) 0.86% 1,883
Fred Smith (REP) 37.48% 81,888
