Today's "Cheers & Jeers" featured a Poll on which one of the eight houses that John Sidney McCain III and Cindy Lou (Hensley) McCain own is our very favorite.
I poked around in "Cheers & Jeers" for awhile, but for the life of me I couldn't locate any photos on which to base my vote - which may be why "Not Sure/No Opinion" had a plurality.
But since inquiring minds want to know, I decided to do some short-notice digging on my own ... so come on along and let's take a look at how those "non-elite" McCains (courtesy of multi-millionaire Heiress and Sugar Momma Cindy) live.
It would appear that Cindy Lou McCain subscribes to the old saying of, "It ain't home, but it's much."
While I didn't come up with all of them, I did find a few along with accompanying background facts as well as some tidbits on the ones that are missing.
What appears to be their main domicile (referred to as "The Ranch") is located right in Phoenix. It's the home Cindy Lou (Hensley) McCain grew up as the child of a multi-millionaire beer tycoon. It was gutted and expanded in a major make-over in the mid-1980s.
Architectural Digest did a spread on their acreage in both an article as well as a slideshow:
Although financial records are not clear, it appears they may actually have sold the above home.
But not to worry, they still have a condo in Phoenix valued at about $4,700,000.00.
It comes fully fitted out with your standard Republican "non-elite" mere 6,000 square feet of "cramped" - but cozy - living space, mountain views, a rooftop pool and concierge service:
The McCains also "rough it" at their "Cabin" in Hidden Valley. But rest assured, this is NOT like Lincoln's log cabin, as it was featured probably about 5 - 10 years ago on HGTV.
Why, they've not only made several additions to the existing house, but also built a separate nearby guest house - and even purchased the house next door to expand their living and entertainment space. (Apparently also subscribing to Mae West's aphorism that "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.")
Cindy Lou McCain, and maybe John (since Arizona is a community property state, he may share possessions his wife didn't directly inherit - but both McCain's campaign as well as heiress Cindy Lou have declined all requests to say whether the couple has communal property), also owns two (count 'em ... two) luxury condominiums in Coronado, California, right on the Pacific beach beside the Hotel del Coronado.
(There are a number of condos right by the Hotel, so I'm just guessing here, but they all look similar.)
While in Washington, the McCains live in a luxury condominium in Arlington assessed at a little under $1,000,000.00.
My take on all of this high-faluting living the McCains do is that it'd be just as easy for John Sidney McCain III to convince me that Sen. Obama is an "elitist" as it would be for him to convince me that bald is a hair color.
