I realize most DKos readers are for Obama, but I'm not yet taking a break from trying to convince actual voters to support him. So if you agree with my theme below, and know people in the remaining primary states, share this with them:
Obama knew it would be hard to get out of Iraq; it's part of why he opposed going in! FORTUNATELY,
...since he vocally opposed starting the war in the first place, he will command more international goodwill. And therefore:
President Obama will be most able to recruit other world leaders (who have been petty and vindictive) to do THEIR SHARE to help stabilize Iraq.
That's how we get out with peaceful objectives there MET, and with our forces holding heads high, which is what they deserve.
[the end. the remaining text is more personal]
I'm one of millions of Americans who in 2002 and 2003 felt so strongly that starting a war in Iraq would be a mistake that we went to the trouble of traveling (in many cases, hundreds of miles) to assmeble with others to protest such a foreseeable disaster.
We were kicked around pretty bad by many of our countrymen back then, and thwarted by most of our elected representatives (in my case as a New Yorker, Hillary Clinton). Now, lo and behold, a growing majority of our fellow Americans have decided that our position back then was right.
Everyone knew we'd beat Hussein's government quickly. Not everyone took the time to consider what would happen next. ONLY a presidential candidate who actually employed such basic, obvious forethought is deserving of the White House, not someone who ignored it. Please reward Obama with your support.
