Starting the day out right after last night's loss in West Virginia, team Obama announces the support of not one, but two new superdelegates (via The Page), albeit one is only worth half a delegate:
For Obama:
- Democrats Abroad Chair Christine Schon Marques (worth 0.5 of a delegate)
- Indiana Rep. Pete Visclosky.
- College Democrat Chairs Awais Khaleel (WI) and Lauren Wolfe (MI) endorsed late last night (although credit with only one delegate since Michigan supers don't count yet...)
For Clinton:
- Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women head Vicky Harwell (add-on, NOT an undecided super declaring) - CORRECTION: an add-on, but previously undeclared
That makes todays count Obama +2.5, Clinton +1. Send me more tips as the endorsements come in and I'll update this thread as the day goes. (p.s. since IN/NC, Obama has won more super delegates than the total number of delegates at stake in WV last night)
A couple updates:
- There is debate about whether the College Democrats count as yesterday, or today. I'm including it as today, but if you don't, then count it as +1.5 for Obama so far.
- Keep the tips coming, because according to Ambinder: Obama will pick up several more super delegates today
Here is the College Democrats endorsement last night:
UPDATE 3:
Not a super delegate, but big news: NARAL endorses Obama.
UPDATE 4: Halperin at The Page is hinting that Edwards could endorse Obama in Michigan tonight. Ambinder says it could be a conspicuous Clinton deserter. And a source of mine will only say that he thinks...Halperin is wrong.
