This will be short but I noticed some significant things last nite...
after the jump.....
I don't know if anyone has written about this but Hillary's supporters seemed to show a lack of enthusiasm last night.
Whenever she said what should have been BIG cheering crowd stuff, most people either stood there, clapped half-heartedly or kept talking to someone next to them. A few people clapped wildly but that did not drown out the obvious lackluster response she was getting.
I also noticed that the cameras stayed fixed in her immediate stage area and never panned the room. That would ofcourse indicate that the room was not filled up.
One final thing, and this is just an observation, interpret it the way you will; but I only spotted 1 person of color in the whole room and he was placed right behind her.
I am not at all surprised at this. I think the exit polls in WV say what everyone is thinking, they were not voting for her so much as voting against Obama. I say let McBush have their 5 lousy electoral votes. I think BO can get my homestate of MO, which has voted for every President but one in its entire history.
Oh and as a throw in, here is this gem from the Washington Post:
2:57 p.m., Yeager Airport, Charleston, W.Va.: A steep descent brings Clinton's plane to Charleston's hilltop airport. After an appropriate wait, she steps from the plane and pretends to wave to a crowd of supporters; in fact, she is waving to 10 photographers underneath the airplane's wing. She pretends to spot an old friend in the crowd, points and gives another wave; in fact, she is waving at an aide she had been talking with on the plane minutes earlier.

Update--I always forget my tip jar, but thanks everyone for the comments. This is the first diary I have done that has been so very well received.
